Disclaimer

Laughing at Narcs is a personal website that uses humor to talk about narcissism, difficult relationships, and patterns many people recognize after living with narcissistic behavior. I am not a therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, counselor, social worker, doctor, or lawyer. I am a person who has lived with narcissists for my entire life and writes from that experience.

Nothing on this website is therapy, treatment, diagnosis, or professional advice of any kind.

Not Mental Health, Medical, or Legal Advice

The stories, definitions, jokes, lists, videos, emails, and articles on Laughing at Narcs are for general information and entertainment only. They are based on personal experience, publicly discussed concepts, and opinion. They are not a substitute for advice from a licensed mental health professional, physician, or attorney.

I cannot diagnose you, your partner, your parent, your boss, or anyone else. Only a qualified professional can assess a person’s mental health. Reading this site does not create a therapist-patient relationship, a coaching relationship, or an attorney-client relationship.

If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself, or feel unsafe, stop reading and get help right away. In the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 if there is an immediate emergency. If you are outside the United States, contact local emergency services.

Humor Has Limits

This site uses satire, sarcasm, and dark humor. That style is meant to make heavy material easier to look at, not to mock people who are hurting or to tell you that abuse is funny. Jokes are not instructions. Do not use anything here as a script for confronting someone, leaving a relationship, going to court, or handling a dangerous situation.

Narcissistic abuse and high-conflict relationships can involve real harm. If you are dealing with threats, stalking, violence, or coercive control, contact local authorities or a domestic-violence resource in your area. This website cannot protect you and does not provide safety planning.

No Guarantees

I do not guarantee that any article is complete, current, or accurate for your situation. Psychology terms are used in a plain-language, popular way. Popular use of words like “narcissist,” “narc,” or “gaslighting” is not the same as a clinical diagnosis.

Results vary. What helped me process my own life may not help you. You are responsible for how you interpret and use this content.

Opinions, Stories, and Other People

Unless clearly stated otherwise, everything on this site is my opinion. Stories may be compressed, anonymized, or written in a general way to protect privacy. Do not assume any post is about a specific living person you know. You should not use this site to label, harass, defame, or “expose” anyone.

I am not responsible for how readers apply these ideas to other people, including family members, partners, or public figures.

Third-Party Links and Resources

This website may link to books, articles, videos, hotlines, or other sites. I do not control those sites and I am not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or advice. A link is not an endorsement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Laughing at Narcs and its owner are not liable for any loss, injury, decision, relationship outcome, emotional distress, or damages that arise from your use of this website or reliance on anything published here. You use this site at your own risk.

The content is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted access.

Intellectual Property

Unless noted otherwise, the writing, jokes, graphics, and original content on this site belong to Laughing at Narcs. You may not copy, scrape, republish, or sell the content without permission, except for brief, credited quotes under applicable fair-use rules.

Changes

I may update this disclaimer at any time. The version posted on this page is the current one. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.

A Plain-English Bottom Line

I am not your therapist. I am someone who survived a lifetime around narcissistic people and decided to talk about it with humor. Read what helps. Leave what doesn’t. Get professional support when the situation is bigger than a blog post.
